Bibliography: The Mongoose by Annie Besant

Vyasa suggested that the king redeem earth with gold
All who attended the sacrifice left with wealth
A Mongoose now narrates the story
There was a Brahmin who was living off of basically corn
Famine struck and his family became stick skinny, like skeletons
Later, the husband gathers barley and powder, then portions it into 4
A guest came and the husband gave him his share of food
The wife then brought her share to her husband to eat
The weak wife insisted until the husband gave it to the guest
The son did the same as the others and the guest was still left hungry
They had been feeding the guest, Dharma
Once the god was noticed, the mongoose came and his body turned to gold
The family was basically gifted with riches in the end

Week 5 Story: Jess and Jones

Jess and Jones One summer day, the water was glistening and birds chirping. It had been a fine summer with everything going mighty fine. Out in the fields with cows and horses, there was a house that managed it all. The household of Mr. Madison, who was well-known for his pure humor and intelligence. He had two son, Jones and Jackson, who were everything to him. Jones had a wife, Jess, who was a beloved daughter of Mr. Madison's dear friend.
