Babbitt There was a man who had a strong Ox This Ox was one-of-a-kind The Old Man would boast about his Ox to everyone he encountered One day the Old Man came across a village and decided he'd make a bet The Villagers all laughed at the idea of the strong Ox pulling 100 carts The bet was a thousand pieces of silver The bet was on and the Old Man whipped his Ox and called it names The Ox refused to move by the unfamiliar behavior shown When all was over the Old Man paid the forfeit fee and went along his way At home, the two discussed what happen and the Old Man realized he had treated his Ox unfairly The Ox was disappointed at that fact and made the Old Man lose money When they came to a consensus, the two decided to go back and show the village what was up In the end the Ox won double the money lost and left with a BANG! Tech Tip: Word Count

I think Word Count is a useful tool because it lets you keep track on your word count. I think everyone should give it a try until you're able to eye out your work count. I tend to write under the minimum, so I think this tool really helps me stay on track.

Week 9 Story: The Selfless Gentleman

A home far from the inner-city, surrounded by giant trees, there lived a man named Jonah. Jonah was a farmer who had been living away in a deserted area for many years now. He decided that this would be the most preferable option for him, now that his family had all passed. All of his immediate family died from a natural disaster that hit in the inner-city, leaving him all alone. In order to stay away from those awful memories, he made the ultimate decision to stay away. The old farm Jonah had been living off very little and as humble as he was, he still fed his very few animals. He would try to grow vegetables and sell his eggs that he got from the hens, but with the weather being hot and dry, there was very little production. Jonah could feel that his time was coming, where he perish from this world and live with his family once again. Until that day came, Jonah continued to feed himself and his remaining animals. Weeks had passed and Jonah was getting weaker and thinner

Week 8 Progress

Image
According to the progress chart, I'm on track to getting an A in the class! I hop to finish strong and keep up the work. Personally, I haven't taken advantage of the extra credit opportunities, which isn't all too bad, I just have to make sure I'm finishing the required assignments. Looking back at all my work, I am surprised of how far I have come. I have a plethora of reading notes and stories from past weeks. I think I'm enjoying the stories we get to read, because they're interesting to read and provide a wide variety of content. As I look forward, I hope to create more stories that I can put in my Portfolio and have people enjoy them. It's very encouraging to read all the comments we get on our assignments and apply them to our own use. Motivation to Push Through!

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
The feedback I am receiving is helpful and nice to look at. The comments that let me know what I should work on or what could be of fix is nice. Also, reading the comments that boost my stories are nice to hear as well. I think I could improve on my feedback out, because sometimes I feel like i'm saying empty words? But I usually try to pin point some aspects that I really liked. Reading the introduction of everyone in our class is very helpful in getting to know them and I get to see the diversity our class holds. I learn something new every reading! I look forward to reading the last bits of introductions of this course and I hope to learn more about everyone and their values. Feedback

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Image
Overall, I think i'm having a good time reading stories and coming up with them afterwards. I don't think I have run into the problem of not being able to create a story from a previous reading. Looking back at my blog, it amazes me of how far we've already gotten into this semester and all the blog posts we have made. I think the biggest accomplishment for me up until now would be creating stories. I would never have imagined myself creating stories based off of Indian Epics. My favorite reading would definitely be the The Cunning Crane and the Crab. I enjoyed creating a story off of that and I think my picture selection perfectly describes my story as well. The Gambler
